A colourful wedding at Middleton Lodge
Garden style summer wedding
Sophie and Geoff - a natural take on a garden style country wedding.
I first spoke to Sophie last summer via zoom, and her vision for her day just sounded beautiful. We decided to do a breath of green and white with little pops of colour. She really allowed me to be creative with the brief to create a beautiful look.
Middleton lodge
S + G both had fallen in love with Middleton lodge in North Yorkshire, and it was easy to see why. It truly is the most breath taking venue - with absolutely beautiful walled gardens. It creates a true sense of escape to the English countryside.
Flowers
When talking with Sophie the bride we discussed her favourite flowers which she wanted to try to incorporate within her designs which then played a big focal points within the designs; these were alliums - which were in the walled garden at Middleton lodge.
Other flowers Sophie discussed that she loved were daisies, cosmos and dahlias.
Tablescape
The tablescape was one of the main floral designs which when discussing with the bride what she wanted to be discussed amongst the guests.
As we wanted pops of colour and to follow the natural flow of how a garden is we decided to group colour to make a bigger impact in designs.
Ikeabana style bowls were used to create natural movement, and bring height within the designs. We then decided to nestle moss along the table to make the florals look more natural and growing.
Candle light was added to soften the room - which we suggest couples to do to create a truly romantic setting.
Sustainability Focus
Thank you so much to Sophie and Geoff for choosing me to be their florist and allowing me to be creative with all their ideas.
A huge thank you to the amazing suppliers who made the wedding such a fun day to work on.
